Baby daycare centre Kusasa
(Zulu for "Tomorrow")
Why we support Kusasa:

Children, who receive a carefree head start in live, are miles ahead of those who were deprived of this privilege. The future of their entire lives is determined by what they receive and absorb in their first very crucial life years.

It is absolutely necessary for the future of their generation to be able to start a decent school education as soon as possible.

The baby daycare centre Kusasa in Khethani provides accommodation of the tiny tots, so that their older siblings can go to school instead of having to take care of their baby brothers and sisters.

By taking care of these tiny tods in Kusasa, we are in direct contact with their families. These close and intimate contacts will help with the timely detection of HIV, other illnesses or problems.

Conditions
  • Babies from 0 till 2.5 years old are accepted.
  • Mums will pay a daily contribution of R2. This is a small amount but asking for a contribution is necessary to avoid the "handout culture".
  • Only babies of whom the mother works, is too young, studies, is too sick, or has died will be accepted.
  • For each baby we will keep a separate file that will contain the details of the child, the follow-up of the necessary inoculations, the family situation, etc.
  • Christine, nurse at the Isibani Centre, will visit regularly for check-ups and can be contacted in case of any problems.
